Course Description
Fancourt Hotel and Country Club Estate has four golf courses to offer the golfing visitor. All the courses are renowned for their amazing year round condition and attention to detail that is shown.
The Outeniqua course was designed by Gary Player and named after the mountain range that runs along the Garden Route coast. This 18 hole, par 72 course with a total yardage of 7038 has very pleasing design features and is always in excellent condition. Long hitters will be tempted to reach the green on the short par four 5th hole. A water hazard dominates the right side of the fairway and green.
The Montagu course is an 18 hole, par 72 course with a total yardage of 6905 and was also designed by Gary Player. It is a modern course with a mature parkland feel and is considered to be of the best conditioned courses in South Africa. It has been cleverly designed and presents an enjoyable challenge to all level of golfers. The Links course was designed by Gary Player and Phil Jacobs. The 18 hole, par 72 course with a total yardage of 7178 is unique to South Africa and hosted the prestigious Presidents Cup in November 2003 . This man-made links course is quite possibly the most difficult course in South Africa, which offers an exceptional experience to the golfer. Jack Nicklaus commented when he had played at The Links "it looks as if it's always been here. I could swear I was in Scotland at times, because the holes themselves are like holes in Scotland". Bramble Hill is Fancourt's fourth and youngest course. This 18 hole, par 70 course with a total yardage of 6648 was designed by the Gary Player Design Co and is likely to be busier than the others as the only public 'pay and play' course at the resort.
